Learn to move mindfully

Learn to improve your posture, breathing, co-ordination, balance and flexibility.

But not by boring exercises.

The Feldenkrais Method® is a different body learning method. It uses gentle movement explorations along with directed awareness of how you are moving. Become more aware of your whole self – what your current movement habits are.

Habits are necessary because consciously thinking through every footstep, every breath, every corner in the car, would overwhelm us. But some old body movement habits don't serve us well.

Feldenkrais teaches body awareness. You will re-examine your movements. You can develop better body awareness as you discover the parts that you are over-working, and which you’re under-working.

Learn to reduce the stress and even the pain you are carrying in your body. Tune in to your current habits, and then find easier options that work more efficiently, particularly for you.

So, retrain your brain. (It's called "neuroplasticity".) Gently and slowly explore various movement sequences. Learn how to reach, roll, sit and stand comfortably. As a baby or young child, that's just where you started!
